Reporting Non-emergencies To Police [OFFICIAL]

You may have noticed that towards the end of last year we re-launched our website. As part of the development work we have included an online reporting section and live webchat to enable people to contact us about non-emergencies.

In the digital age people are doing more and more online. The website functionality enables people to contact us in this way, if they would prefer to do so than call 101.

A recent survey of more than 2,000 e-Cops subscribers showed that 65% of people didn’t know they could report non-emergencies online and nearly 90% were unaware of the live webchat option. However, 78% said that they would consider reporting in this way having been made aware of it.

With the above statistics in mind, we would like to ask you to consider helping us to promote online reporting to make more residents aware of this option. I have attached a suggested article for consideration for any local newsletters you produce or websites you look after. I would be incredibly grateful of you could help us in this way.

In the meantime, if you would like to look at the online reporting functionality please visit by following the web link below. The live webchat function is available by clicking on the green icon on the bottom right of the page.
